It is a competition sport that is played with a ball, a glove and a bat. It has two rival teams of nine players. It is the national sport of Cuba and United States but is played in different parts of the world due to its tradition and popularity. In Cuba each competence catches the attention of lots of fans who have passion for these events.

He was born in Mexico on March 21, 1806. Of indigenous origin, he was a lawyer and politician. He reached the Mexican presidency on several occasions. He is known as the Benemérito de las Américas ( the Meritorious of the Americas). A phrase of his became famous: "Among individuals, as among nations, respect for the rights of others is peace". He died in Mexico on July 18, 1872.

It was founded in 1237 and now is the capital of Germany. It is the most populated city, with more than three million inhabitants. It is the second city regarding size and the fifth in relation to urban areas among the countries of the European Union.   

The Library started on October 18, 1901, in a room at the Real Potency Castle. The Library’s first director was Domingo Figarola Caneda. It currently has a large, varied and rich bibliographic fund, made of books published in Cuba and the world. It is the largest library in Cuba and it is located in a building at the “José Martí” Revolution Square.

He was born on July 24, 1908 in the Manzanillo area in the bosom of a proletarian family. He was a prestigious Cuban partisan leader. In 1938, in correspondence with an international situation, the Communist Party of Cuba was legalized, and his work as a member inserted his name in the national political events. He was among the communist delegates who participated in the Constituent Assembly and who drafted and approved the 1940 Constitution. He actively participated in the process of consolidation of the Revolution and in the construction of the socialist society. Between 1962 and 1965 he edited the newspaper Hoy. In October 1965 he was elected member of the Central Committee of the Party, and of its Secretariat and in 1975 at the first congress of the Party he was elected member of the Political Bureau. The following year, when the National Assembly of People's Power was constituted, he was elected President of the highest governing body of the country. He died in Havana on April 25, 1987.
