The Public Health authorities in Havana take actions to guarantee an intervention study to workers of the Public Health system during phase III of the Soberana 02 vaccine clinical tests. This was reported to the Provincial Defense Committee by Dr. Nilda Roca Menéndez, Deputy Director of Public Health in the capital.

“Yesterday, seven teams left to certify the 82 health areas and the 14 hospitals that were in vaccination process. Besides, within these actions, preparation meetings were done with the managing staff and with professionals of this system. The schedule for the certification of areas for the vaccination was elaborated, and 244 nurses were certified, which will allow having two certified nurses for each vaccination center”.

“Also a training program was done by the National Statistics Direction to a one hundred percent of the statistics in every clinical center, all the staff involved in the gathering of data was trained by the National Informatics Direction and the CUJAE, and the process for the identification of workers started under the inclusive criteria of the Public Health institutions”.

Hospitals like Luis Díaz Soto, IPK, and the UCI Hospital, were the center chosen for the treatment of the patients confirmed as positive that have been vaccinated, and at the same time, the Manuel Fajardo Hospital will treat patient presenting difficult and serious health situations.  

The vaccination schedule for the 150 000 employees of the Public Health System in the capital is planned to occur in two stages, according to Dr. Nilda Roca Menéndez. The first one started on Monday, March 22nd, in COVID hospitals, Primary Health-care Institutions, Molecular Biology Laboratories, and institutions within to the Ministry of Interior, as well as with workers of BioCubaFarma. A total of 63 301 health workers and 32 000 workers from BioCubaFarma will be vaccinated.

Next March 29th, will start the second stage, in which the rest of the staff part of the health institutions, Medical Sciences Universities, and verification units will be vaccinated.

While analyzing the opinion of the population respecting the unfair prices in the sale of agricultural goods in markets, stands and by street vendors, the president of the Defense Council of Havana, Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, said that the capital has not achieved the regularity needed in the control of the collection of fines to those who violate the prices and fees’ policies.

“We have been facing these situations for a year, but we have not had the results expected, and the fines are among the things that have had an influence on it. We need people to pay the fines they are imposed, because if they do not pay, and produced impunity and lack of respect for the law, and we need to do what we have approved. We have to make that the decrees that the country has approved are accomplished”.

In the operation Lucha Contra Coleros (Fight Against Line-Makers) in Havana, a list of 437 people who have bought more than 45 times in the last days is being checked.  Seven municipalities show good results in this activity.
