Havana ephemeris. 1st of July.

1947. The Radio Clock Station is founded in Havana.

It began broadcasting from the roof of the building on Prado y Monte Street in Havana where CMQ operated. It was a radio station first and then also a television station located in Havana. It was founded on March 12, 1933, by Miguel Gabriel and Ángel Cambó, and later, on August 1, 1943, it was acquired in half by the Mestre Espinosa Brothers business group. At that time it becomes a national chain.

Initially it was located on Monte street, corner of Paseo del Prado, but on March 12, 1948 the radio circuit was transferred to the Radiocentro building, in Vedado.

Radio Reloj is the only Cuban station that broadcasts the news and the time every minute, 24 hours a day, completely live. It is also the only one in Cuba that transmits the time of more than 20 world capitals at 12 noon and 12 midnight.

Among its main lines of work are the recombinant production of proteins and hormones, vaccines and diagnostic means, the production of monoclonal antibodies, the use of biomass and its transformation by chemical-enzymatic means, and the micropropagation of cells and tissue cultures.
