1868. The town of Campo Florido is founded in the town of Guanabacoa.

It was created with a simple urban layout that is characterized by the irregular layout of its streets that has transcended to the present day, where the traditional single-family home stands out, inserted in a natural environment with significant landscape values ​​harmoniously combined.

During the Cuban War of Independence, the town of Campo Florido was the scene of historical events, such as the death of Colonel of the Liberation Army Néstor Aranguren. Also in the locality, the attack on the town by Mambí Brigadier Rafael de Cárdenas Benítez took place.

In the stage of the neo-colony, an active inclination towards the foundation of Cultural Societies such as Music Academies, the Liceo and the Union Club was already encouraged by the initiative of the residents of the town. In this, it is worth noting the role played by members of the Popular Socialist Party who used these institutions as political tribunes from the very beginning, in which personalities such as Salvador García Agüero, Leonel Soto Prieto, Raúl Ferrer and Jesús Orta Ruiz participated.

Currently Campo Florido is a Popular Council of the Habana del Este municipality.

1988. The Group for the integral development of Havana was officially established.

It promotes actions for the integral development of the city and the improvement of its image. Work was done on the realization of a model of the central urban area and a model plan of Havana that are on permanent display in a pavilion for urban studies and expression of ideas and in turn contributes to citizen identity. Also in this center urban studies are developed through computerized information systems and different activities related to the city. The group promotes the improvement of living conditions in the most affected communities of the city through the experience of transforming the neighborhood and prepares the strategy for the economic and social development of the city of Havana.
