Havana Anniversaries. April 22nd.

1970.   At the Chaplin Theater in Havana, the ceremony for the centenary of the birth of Vladimir Ilich Lenin is held. In his speech, the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro emphasized: "Lenin is one of those truly exceptional human cases.

The simple reading of his life, his history and his work, the most objective analysis of the way in which his thought and activity unfolded throughout his life, really make him in the eyes of all human beings a truly exceptional man."

1980. Cuban poet and film critic Roberto Branly dies.

He was born in the Cuban capital on February 8, 1930.

His work was worthy of study and criticism. He was among the founders of the Cine Club of the Nuestro Tiempo Cultural Society, which brought together a good part of the restless and renovating intellectuality of the 50's. He was also among the members of the executive of the

Cinemateca de Cuba in its first stage, which explains his fondness and knowledge of the seventh art.

After the triumph of the Revolution, he directed the cultural page "Nueva Generación" of the newspaper Revolución. He attended the First National Congress of Writers and Artists of Cuba in Havana in 1961. Immersed in the Cuban intellectual scene, he graduated from the Manuel Márquez Sterling Professional School of Journalism.

He actively participated in many cultural events.
